SBM Tower, Port-Louis, Friday 22 December 2023 – A delegation from UnionPay, including Mr Shao Fujun, Chairman of China UnionPay, had a meeting with representatives of SBM Bank (Mauritius) Ltd at the SBM Tower on Wednesday 13 December 2023 to discuss future converging projects. A long-standing UnionPay International (UPI) partner, SBM Bank (Mauritius) Ltd was the first bank to launch UnionPay debit and prepaid cards on the Mauritian market back in 2014.
During the meeting, the representatives from SBM Bank (Mauritius) Ltd, among whom was the Chief Executive, Mr Premchand Mungar, and the delegation from UnionPay discussed ways to further enhance the collaboration between both parties. By committing to fostering and further enhancing this relationship, SBM and UPI aim to provide innovative solutions that cater to the evolving needs of customers.
